Its job is to protect the mobile from high voltage. If the charger gives high voltage then this IC stops it so that your device remains safe.

Step by Step Process
- Open the charging section of the motherboard
- Identify the OVP IC (as shown in the picture below)
- Carefully connect the input and output points of the IC with jumper wire i.e. OVP IC will be bypassed so that the voltage can directly reach the charging IC
- Check all connections are correct Cover the jumper using UV glue Check the mobile by putting it on charging

Charging problem is solved instantly No need to install a new OVP IC
Loss
If wrong charger is used and this voltage fluctuation occurs then motherboard may get damaged
This solution is temporary, it is better to replace OVP ic in future
